Kia ora bloggers! Today I was so eager to do todays task. It was all about personification poems. Personification is when you write a poem about a non living object to make it feel real. I've made two poems: Spring has fallen and A persons heart ( from someones perspective ). Here are the recordings of my two poems:
A persons heart: https://watch.screencastify.com/v/N9m0mdZ9ipgi7Ao3UyXy . ->
I made the poem " A persons heart " Because I wanted to signify how people get heartbroken. Its ok to be and feel that way. I also wanted to add something in their that said " people deserve a second chance just not for the same mistakes " Meaning that if you have been broken before and you want to trust another person but your too scared. Remember that scars heal. You can trust a person again but if they do they wrong, just have faith and when you will find the right person its yours to be destined.
Spring has fallen: https://watch.screencastify.com/v/bd3GSMoBWir0gKpgkIx4. ->
I made the poem " Spring has fallen" because I wanted to show 2 things: my love for autumn/fall and how we need to get used to change slowly when the time is right. Sometimes things happen quite quickly and before you know it, its time to let go and say goodbye. I had to do the same. Saying goodbye to my old friends, and my old school was quite hard. But coming here made me feel different. I found new friends but still dont forget about the old. This poem was to signify how you have to leave the past behind but make way for the future; because when there i a down there is a up.
I hope you enjoyed my two poems. I really enjoyed making my poems, It felt as if it was really going to put another outlook on the world.
Ka pai Margaux. These poems are incredible. I like the way you read them slowly and clearly. I liked your line about finding new friends but remembering the old. I can relate to this as I left lots of good friends in England but made more friends here in New Zealand. Look out for the Summer Learning Journey this year as there is a whole poetry section!
ReplyDeleteHey Margaux thankyou for sharing your thoughtful and well spoken poetry. I enjoyed your'Spring has fallen' poem especially since it is my favourite time of the year seeing so many trees that appeared dead come to life with and blossom and amazing colour. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteKa rawe e hoa, I am so impressed with your use of words to describe something very personal in such a mature and honest way in your first poem. Your second poem about Spring reminds me of a Robert Frost poem but is way more hopeful than his https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/148652/nothing-gold-can-stay-5c095cc5ab679. It alludes to the energy of nature as it changes and grows. Your writing shares so much emotion and imagery. Kia mana ake!
ReplyDeleteWow. Thank you all so much so these thoughtful comments. I really like how most of you can relate to my poems as if they were written by you. I am trying to aim for the academic award or the poetry slam award. - Kind regards, Margaux.
ReplyDeleteMargaux what delightful, mature poems which have so much meaning. Written with insight and spoken in a clear manner.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant work Margaux. What lovely thoughtful and mature ideas you have used in your poems. Wishing you all the best to achieve your goal of winning poetry slam award/ academic award this year. Nga mihi nui for sharing Margaux.
ReplyDeleteI loved your poems. Rather than just telling an idea you were highly descriptive. I loved words like vibrant. The words you choose meant I could visually see and feel what you were saying. Well done!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the new comments. I really wanted to signify how this refers to most people, not just me. I highly appreciate the comments.
